Horrible allergies completely GONE after STOPPING Claritin reditab use (10 years of use)

I’m not sure if anyone else has had this happened to them before but I’m posting on this group because it could potentially help someone else.

I had been using Claritin reditabs for 10ish years because they’re easy and dissolve under your tongue. I started using them I think because my parents had them when I used to live at home, I grew up with Cats and never had an issue with them until I was an adult (started early 20s currently 34F)

as time went on, my allergies got worse and worse, I just assumed it was getting worse with age. This prompted me to continue to be dependent on the Claritin. I always had it in my purse and had some in my apartment, in the past 5 years I became extremely allergic to my cats, I would sneeze all day, I was super allergic to plants, my eyes would itch like crazy, my nose would close up, I would have insomnia from the crazy allergy symptoms.

My allergies got so bad I started taking one Claritin a day sometimes two. I had to wash my bedding all the time, I would sneeze at work all of the time and my nose was constantly running. I was so allergic to one of my cats, at one point I just stopped petting her and I felt really bad about it so I just brushed her with a brush and washed my hands right after I touched her. My allergies got so bad and I was so miserable I started looking up different types of allergy pills because I just felt like the Claritin wasn’t working anymore so I bought some Amazon allergy pills (Day Allergy, Cetirizine Hydrochloride Tablets) I used them for a few days, they work just good, but after a week off of the Claritin I didn’t need allergy pills at all anymore.

It’s been a couple months and I’m not allergic to my cats AT ALL anymore. I can put my face all over the cat I was super allergic to and I don’t sneeze at all, my eyes NEVER itch I have NO allergy symptoms anymore !!

I hope this helps someone, I am upset that I took the pills that long and they made my allergies so bad. I know that taking any type of medication chronically is bad for your health. It’s upsetting because I thought the allergy pills were something that were helping me, but in reality, they were the very cause of my allergies. All of those days I spent miserable, but I am just so thankful it’s over.
