I NEED ADVICE PLEASE HELP ME

Many people in my Class/Grade look down on me and show contempt towards me, recently a girl, let's call her L, said that I am basically a burden to my mom (single mom), I stopped helping her and talking to her, but I am still polite, and she keeps telling mean things, or according to my cringe class roasts me. what should I do?
