Kidde false positives multiple times per day
I bet this has been asked quite a bit here, but I struggle to find a concrete answer.
We are renting our house. Less than a year ago, we had 2 fire alarms replaced with new Kidde ones. One in the hallway near the kitchen, one in our laundry room, (an extension that was built separately from the house.)
Anyways, our laundry room alarm keeps activating, 2-3 times a day. It beeps once, almost sounding like the beep gets cut off, but triggers the second Kidde alarm that goes through its normal cycle.
When I look at the alarm that was tripped, it flashes amber and by pressing the button is announces “smoke previously detected.”
We’ve been getting false trips from that alarm since at least October, but none as consistent as now.
We thought that maybe the A/C kicking in caused it, but we have proven that false, maybe the litter box was tripping it, but after moving it from below the alarm, no changes.
Please help, I have family members who do Zoom meetings and this cannot happen while on call.
Thank you all SO much for your help, I’ll try to keep up with your questions to figure this out!
