I resolved the biggest concern of my life dark circles through lower blepharoplasty.

Hello,

I’d like to share my experience after undergoing lower blepharoplasty, which helped me overcome one of my biggest lifelong insecurities—dark circles. Since the procedure, I’ve been enjoying each day with so much more confidence and happiness.

To be honest, this was my very first cosmetic surgery. As a student, I didn’t notice these concerns when I was younger, but as I got older and entered adulthood, I began to see certain features more clearly—and naturally, I started to care more about my appearance.

Because it was my first time having any kind of cosmetic procedure, I was incredibly nervous and worried. But at the same time, I had a sense of trust and anticipation, which helped me go into the surgery with a positive mindset.

Before the procedure, no matter how good the lighting was, the area under my eyes always looked dark and hollow. I started avoiding mirrors and stopped taking selfies. My lack of facial volume also made me look older than I was, and eventually, I made the decision to have surgery.

The procedures I underwent were eye shape correction, lower blepharoplasty, and fat grafting to my cheeks.

On the 4th and 6th days post-op, there was still a lot of swelling, especially in the cheeks due to the fat grafting, which gave my face a slightly puffy, almost cute appearance. Until day 4, I had tape under my eyes, so I couldn’t see much of a difference. But on day 6, when the tape was removed during a follow-up visit, I was amazed to see that my dark circles were gone.

Though I still had some bruising, I remember happily telling the doctor, “It’s just bruises—no more darkness!” I was genuinely surprised by how effective the procedure was.

At that point, my eyes were still very swollen, and it was obvious I had surgery, but because my biggest concern—my dark circles—had been resolved, I didn’t mind the swelling at all.

After about a month, the dark circles had completely disappeared, no matter the angle. The fat grafting also added natural volume to my face, which helped me look much younger overall.

I was initially worried that the fat grafting might look too obvious or make me look overly artificial, like the stereotypical "Gangnam-style face." But the doctor reassured me, promising a natural result—and they delivered exactly that. It turned out to be just the right amount of enhancement, and I’m genuinely thrilled with how it turned out.

Most recently, I’ve been feeling completely refreshed and youthful. The dark circles are gone, and I no longer look older than my age.

My friends have told me I look prettier in a very natural way, and I now fully realize how important the under-eye area is. Once that area brightens, the whole face looks more radiant, and I’ve even been told that my overall impression has changed.

People no longer ask me if I’m tired or if I didn’t sleep well.

So to anyone who struggles with dark circles and feels frustrated every time they look in the mirror—I highly recommend lower blepharoplasty. For me, it wasn’t just an option—it was a necessity. And I’m so glad I did it.
