Was it the can??

So I got some stuff outta town but left my stem at home,so I set up a can with ash and smoked a few hits and hit the highway ,started not feeling good like my breathing like I couldnt catch my breath even my arms and hands were getting numb and tingly so after a hr or so of driving stopped and had a few more hits and same thing,sucks bc I didn't get as high as I would have with my stem .....was it the can? Was almost like I couldn't finish the hit or take the smoke outta the can when I take my finger off the choke
