Nipple piercing

I got my nipples pierced on june 11 with a 12 g needle, titanium internally threaded jewelry. So far everything is healing well but I have noticed some divots where the balls rest on my areola, there is no pain or odor or anything, just a little bit of skin flaking. I clean them twice a day with a normal saline wound wash. Basically I just want to know is it okay for them to leave the little indents? they’re not pierced through the areola.
