Downloaded Sims 3 Years Ago and Can’t Play Now

Hi all! I downloaded Sims 3 back in 2010 and have had it on my computer for a while and played countless hours on it. The new PC that I have transferred my downloads including Sims 3. In my day, I used Origin to log in. I just logged into EA and it said that I need to pay $5 a month to play game I owned for years???? How do I get around this???
