Companions

So, I married Emily, and I’m currently trying to get 10 stars with every person, since I just completed the Community Center. My question is, even when I’m married, can I still achieve 10 stars with potential wives/husbands? I’ve been giving them iridium rabbits foot but they’re not going up at all. Do I have to divorce Emily to gain 10 stars with everyone? I need to start getting recipes, and it seems the best way is to get 10 stars with everyone. Thanks!
