Can 3D Illustration Skills in TeX Lead to Real Career Opportunities in Math?

Unanswered

I’ve invested a significant amount of time mastering 3D illustration skills in TeX—probably way more hours than I’m proud to admit—because I thought it might give me an edge in my math career. I enjoy it as a hobby and have made a lot of great connections through it, but I’m struggling to see how it translates into real financial opportunities or meaningful career advancement within math. While these are legitimate skills that could apply to any 3D graphics language or platform, my expertise is focused on TeX. Beyond making cool visuals for papers or lectures, is there a way to leverage these skills professionally in mathematics that I might be overlooking? Or is this kind of niche talent mostly just a rewarding passion project rather than a practical career booster?
