Why am I bleeding now

I have 4 days before I am supposed to go on my sugar pills, but I have already started bleeding and getting intense cramps. I was on tbe lowest dose of progesterone and estrogen combo pill for a year and when I realized I could not skip periods without break through bleeding, I switched pills and have been on this one for 3 months. I tested it and I was able to skip a period and everything went fine. So I am confused why this is happening now. Me and my boyfriend usually use a condom but haven't really this month. I take my pill on time every day and do not mess around with it.
