Should I be proud of Okba ibn Nafi3 or Akcel! A personal identity dilemma!

Lately I’ve been going through a bit of an identity crisis! I feel torn between two historical figures who represent very different parts of my heritage! Akcel and Okba ibn Nafi3

On one side Akcel symbolizes the Amazigh people! My ancestors! The native identity of North Africa! And a deep connection to the land! On the other hand Uqba represents the Islamic conquest of the region! The religion I was raised with! And a core part of my spiritual identity!

Here’s what I keep asking myself! If I admire Okba does that mean I’m ignoring the resistance of my own ancestors? And if I take pride in Akcel does that mean I’m rejecting the religion that shaped my values and upbringing?

Honestly I’m not trying to stir up conflict! I’m just trying to understand myself better! If anyone has been through something similar or has a perspective to share I’d genuinely appreciate hearing your thoughts!
