Personal requests for Star Citizen
I am not trying to be Chris Roberts, and I don't work on CIG, but I know a little about business and game development, and I want to point out a few things.
- An alpha is only supposed to have basic features. CIG is putting events and all into the alpha, and it is unnecessary, considering that basic gameplay loops are bugged, and sometimes unplayable. My advice would be to make the basic features good, and then put the game in Beta. In beta, they could add features like base building, more ships, and just as improvements, before an official release. As of now, the game is sort of in an unfinished alpha, but still in a beta-like state. It would also be better to lower the event count, and use events to test fixed features.
- Lower the event count. This game has some of the highest number of events per game that I know of.
- Lower the P2W mentality. While this game isn’t as pay-to-win, because people grind for their ships(a lot), it still allows people with more real-life money to have an advantage, though this is debatable, as the money is used to fund the game.
- Hearing the community. RSI doesn't listen to the community a lot, which is why quite a few things the community doesn't like exist, like bugs and repeating events. As well, the community doesn't have a voice in Star Citizen's development. I would be interested in a large big fixing update soon, and I wish Star Citizen would be able to follow such a path, as the idea of the game is truly wonderful.
P.S. Upvote this so that RSI sees this!
