Concerning and possibly new scam involving Chinese "propositioning".

As of late I and a few others have been getting suspicious profile comments with emojis from random accounts. Some are private or partially public but each one has an AD as an avatar that includes a woman with Chinese beside her and a suspicious link. I was perplexed by this happening over and over again with a new account and a new woman each time. So, I decided to do some shoddy translation of the text and link in the avatar image then.

BAM! It poorly translated to an advert for a Chinese woman propositioning herself through a suspicious link. In short a Chinese Prostitute or CP for short. Now obviously, I'm avoiding this accounts, blocking, and then reporting them but there are just so many of these Chinese Prostitutes running around.

To be honest, I'm more confused than annoyed by it. Since it's a blatant scam, it's visible for all to see in their avatar, and most importantly it requires I know Chinese? Not to mention the fact these scams are just literal prostitution yet seem to face no reprisal from reports on an obviously illegal avatar.

Does anyone know the slightest about all this nonsense? And if so is there a source for it ? Perhaps a specific game or known shady forum on steam?
