Thoughts on a new high end 10' 8 weight nymphing rod?
I do a lot of indicator nymphing for steelhead and am finally looking to upgrade to a high end rod. I used to an edge 1008 and it was good but has broken on me 3x. Also a little heavy. I currently use a sage 896 xp and it's awesome for bead fishing, but the action is too (slow recovery) and I lose alot of fish when fishing nymphs. (14-18).
I've look at all the options and am stuck on either a hardy marksman or nrx +. I'd likes yalls opinion on those or any other rods you feel could fit my bill.
I would go into a shop and ask to try some rods, however i only roll cast and snap t, so that doesnt help me much. I also dont fish much weight and use pretty small indicators. I am not chuck and ducking. I fish Rio salmo/steel. It's the only indo line I like. All others feel way to heavy and overweighted. Thanks!
