Floating in My Sleep, Seeing Myself, and Sleep Paralysis – Can Anyone Explain?

Recurring Dream

Last night I had a strange dream where I saw my legs floating—then my whole body started floating too. What’s weird is that the dream seemed to be happening in the exact setting where I was sleeping, like I was still in my room.

I’ve noticed I tend to dream about the place I'm actually sleeping in. I’ve even heard that some people sleep with their eyes half-open, and I think I might be one of them. Sometimes I feel like I'm aware of my surroundings even though I’m definitely still asleep. It’s like I know I’m sleeping, but everything still feels real and from my own POV.

I’ve also experienced something kind of similar in the past: I've "seen" my own sleeping body, like I'm out of it somehow. On top of that, I’m prone to sleep paralysis. When it happens, I can’t move, and I often see a shadowy figure standing at my door. It’s terrifying, and I usually just pray until I’m finally able to move and wake up.

I don’t know why I experience this stuff so often, but I’m really curious if anyone else does too—or if there’s a name or explanation for it. Is this just sleep paralysis, or something more like lucid dreaming or out-of-body experiences?
