Controversial Viewpoint: Connected Home Automation Kills Creativity
I think connected home automation, while convenient, is slowly eroding our need to problem-solve and be inventive in our own living spaces. We used to have to figure out the best way to arrange furniture for lighting, now we just stick in a smart bulb. We had to learn about timing and temperature for gardening, now we have automated watering systems. It seems like we're outsourcing the small, daily creative challenges that used to spark our ingenuity.
Does anyone else feel like this? I'm not saying automation is inherently bad,but I wonder if the ease and convenience are unintentionally stifling our creative problem-solving skills. Maybe it frees us up for bigger creative pursuits, or maybe it just makes us less likely to think outside the box in our immediate environment.
I'd be interested to here different perspectives. Are there benefits to this "outsourcing" of minor tasks that outweigh the potential loss of creativity? Or are we becoming too reliant on technology to solve problems that we could easily tackle ourselves, and potentially learn something in the process?
