Hum after wax potting

I have this old eighties Gibson Dirty Fingers that sounded awesome, I put a cover on it without any issues until one day a year later it went microphonic. I decided to wax pot it and it's no longer microphonic but now there's this endless hum, and I have grounded it over and over and tried to find different places of the culprit but no luck. At some point it even started affecting the tone knobs but I fixed that, I think. The hum is driving me crazy because this is as grounded as can be and I'm wondering if something went wrong during the wax potting or if it didn't do enough.
