Jealous of my little sister
I hate that l even have to admit this because it feels childish.I am Jealous of my Little Sister.I feel like this started to fester around the beginning of the year.My sister(13), and I(19) share a birthday.Lately I have been thinking and revisiting old memories + photos on how l looked when I was 13.l looked average and regular, w/ a smidge of naïveté. I never was into makeup/aesthetics bc l was more properly monitored at 13. My sister, however, l feel like if my 13 y/o self saw my 13 y/o sister now, she'd think she's so cool. Already got her makeup routine down to detail, her aesthetic; mixture of dark Y2K.Think of wardrobe from movie 'Thirteen.’ And when I tell you she is like Tracy, she already has a belly piercing. Just seeing her walking out of her school and already having a certain aesthetic/aura at her age, and even more freedom when it comes to literally everything makes me unnecessarily envious. There are moments where I feel like I'm not jealous because of her exactly, but bc she seems, outwardly, like she already has herself figured out. And moments where she seems way too in her own mindset that she thinks the world will stop for her like she does little mannerisms that just peeve me bc she doesn’t understand time and place. I'm more internal & careful when it comes to who l want to be. l need to always have a backup plan, while my sister is more outward and rebellious. It's intriguing, but terrifying, bc she's still a minor and things she already did, like her piercing alone, 13 y/o me would have feared her.But all together I envy all of it.Not like I want to be her, but wish I was that bold at 13, or at least more expressive now.lf the roles were reversed, I feel like she would be The definition, of "cooler older sister."And I'm literally just a loser, wouldn't be surprised if that's how she sees me.Hope for some advice on how I can get over this envious itch. I get that I need to confront this, but tried one other time, and my sister had the gull to just say to me, "It's not my fault that you don't have you're shit together."! get why she said that, but it just fully shut me down. Please, I need advice, bc I cannot have this in my 20s
