New to EoC magic. Advice for buying weapons/armor/codexes (Lvl 99 Magic, 1.4b gp)
Been back for a month after a 10 year hiatus. Bought 1 yrs membership to give myself plenty of time. First thing I did was focus on skilling the new stuff - archeology, div, necro, invention. Got my necro Zuk cape today and am trying to get all 4 zuk capes. To do that, I need to redo Kiln with range and magic. With range I have a decent setup but magic seems way more complicated - and expensive.
I have 1.4b gp and don't spend a lot of time bossing/gathering/processing/flipping. I usually just sell bonds but I'll get around to casually making gp when I hit my pvm goals. Anyway - magic is expensive. On top of weapons and armor, you have to buy codexes to unlock 'greater' abilities.
I haven't used magic in a long time, since pre-EoC so using magic abilities alongside magic spells (runes) is new to me.
Some quests I know I need to do (lmk if I need others)
- The World Wakes (quest not done; needed for 'Sunshine')
- City of Senntisten (not done; needed for 'Smoke Cloud')
- The Light Within (not done; needed for some ancillary spells)
So I have some questions:
- How should the following be prioritized in terms of what to spend money on: Weapons, Armor, Codexes?
- I bought a grasping rune pouch but why use magic spells, which consumes runes, when you can just use magic abilities, which consumes adrenaline (free)? Are magic spells your basic attack to build adrenaline?
- Should I just focus on dual-wield or 2h staves or do I need both? I'm just trying to do Kiln, not trying to maximize dps to get best time on vs. a boss for drops.
