Any recommendations for someone who tried a lot of basic/entry level fragrances growing up, and is now approaching their 30s and looking to try something new and more sophisticated?

Recently, I’ve been inspired to get back into cologne. I remember growing up my parents would have their collections lined up on their mirrored dresser. I remember the routine of getting ready, and the vital step of selecting that day or occasions fragrance. And I remember them always emphasizing the importance of smelling good. They would occasionally gift me my own colognes for holidays and birthdays, and for a long time I inherited the ritual. Carefully deciding between polo red or (who am I kidding) polo red (idk what it was about that EDT, but it had me in a chock hold in high school and early college). Versace Eros, pour Homme, and 1 Million would eventually steal my attention away, but I never explored much more than that. Fast forward and over the last 7 years besides occasionally dabbling in one of the above three scents on occasions, because my girlfriend 1) has a very sensitive nose, 2) is vegan and only uses cruelty free vegan products, and 3) doesn’t particularly care for perfumes herself, Id sort of lost interest in it myself.

All of that being said, Ive fallen into reading a lot of reviews on Reddit recently and it’s got me itching to try some new fragrances. I have a trip to Miami coming up and would like to take a couple of new scents with me. From the fragrances I used to use, I think I like vanilla, citrus, amber, woody, sweet, fresh scents, but I’m also open to trying new things.

I like the idea of something I can wear year round and also something more summer appropriate. Im fairly active and do tend to sweat a bit. I’m also in the office half the week so an option that’s not too attention grabbing but noticeably pleasant for when I’m in meetings and out entertaining. Some of what I’ve looked into and like the sound of: BDC, SWT, JPG Paradise Garden, Most Wanted, and LV Imagination.
