I think Sydney Sweeney recreating a Brooke Shields ad and Sabrina Carpenter recreating scenes from Lolita are infact very weird and not just risqué. Instead of hand waving it all away you're gonna have to convince me that there's nothing weird about Lolita and how the media treated Brooke Shields, that there's nothing weird about intentionally calling back to it, and that there's nothing weird about the conservative celebrations of this choice. I'm not seeing that, I'm just seeing hand waving.
