Do I need an iPad? What do you use it for?

I have a MBA, iPhone, AWP. I'm looking to purchase a new iPad Air 11".

The reasoning is that I'd like to read more pdfs, highlight stuff, and work with notes. I already have a kindle, but this is only ok for books that are in format epub. For any other content in pdf, it sucks.

I'm looking to purchase it more for the study part / notes part without being a student, but being in the professional field that I need to read a lot.

Usually a take most of my notes in MBA, I organise my files, etc. But it's complicated if you want to do lines, make ideas that are being highlighted outside of the written content, etc. Same as it's complicated and a little distracting only to use the MBA for reading.

I'm not looking to purchase it for media consumption, and I was considering one of those e-ink tables, but looking at the price and that I'm already in apple system, I'd like to try an iPad Air.

Also, I need access to Synology suite to access my data. Thank you!
