Vsauce haunts my waking dreams. (800mg)
I decided to trip on DPH during a bout of emotional numbness caused by damn near terminal loneliness - just because I wanted to feel anything at all. It was awful.
I started out on the phone with a friend during the come-up. I saw dancing shadows, spiders, and other weird shit, but nothing too terrible at first. Then my friend finally asked how much I had taken. I glanced quickly at the bottle, thinking I took 400mg. Turns out they were 50mg pills of Benadryl (I use them for my terrible seasonal allergies), not 25mg. So, for my first ever trip, I had taken 800mg - dove straight into the deep end.
For some reason, my friend had to hang up, and then the delirium hit like a truck. It morphed into something close to full-blown psychosis. I had a Vsauce compilation playing on the TV, and Michael suddenly became some kind of evil entity. I ran to the corner of my room, curled up in the fetal position, and just rocked back and forth for what felt like forever (no clue how long, really). Every time he said, "Hey, Vsauce. Michael here," I would shudder, filled with the most primal, neuron-activating, chimp-like fear imaginable.
Eventually, I decided I had to escape. I tore up my room trying to find some kind of button or lever that would open a hole in the wall, because at that point, I had forgotten literally everything - except that my phone was important and I needed to have it.
When my friend called back, the phone started vibrating, and I freaked out. I thought it was going to explode, so I threw it as hard as I could - but my arms felt insanely heavy, and it barely made it five feet before flopping onto the floor.
After what felt like months, the trip started to calm down. My chest hurt like hell, I had a terrible fever, and to this day, I still can’t watch Vsauce. It gives me some weird type of PTSD just hearing his name - let alone hearing his dumbass catchphrase. I do still from time to time hear his voice in a crowd or when i'm out in public and I have to tell myself constantly its not real so I don't have an episode,
