LENOVO Ideapad Gaming 3 15ach6 — Is it the LCD or is it the cable?

Buying help

HELP >< I've had this problem around 2 years now, and I've been planning to have it repaired but the shops here are just too sketchy for me. This was given to me last 2022, and I got something stuck in between the laptop which led to it getting damaged. I've had it checked in repair shops but I got traumatized because the conversation was about laptop parts but they wouldn't let go or let me hold my laptop, they came as close to almost opening it without me even allowing them. Eventually I came home with a new monitor, since I was struggling and needed my laptop for college and advertising arts.

As for the parts, I wanted to keep the 165hz refresh rate but the resolution was in QHD, and the FHD one was only in 60hz, both are 40pin parts, though I wondered if the QHD was compatible with my laptop since the base model only offered FHD at 165 hz

Here are additional questions:

  1. Is it okay to upgrade from FHD to QHD as long as both have existing 40pin connectors?

  2. In the title, is it the LCD or the cable?

  3. What happens if I don't replace the cable and install the new LCD part?

  4. Should I ditch it entirely and just use monitors?
