2018 Kona & Long Distance Tow

I'm about to move across the country and have a million worries. I have a 2018 1.6T Kona and plans to install a hitch to carry a 4x8 Uhaul cargo trailer from the west coast to the east coast. I know the U.S Hyundai doesn't recommend any towing but with the research I've found and the fact it's rated in other countries for 1300lbs unbraked, I'm thinking it's possible.

Has someone done this before? If this doesn't work, I honestly have no idea how I can get to the other side of the country with my dog and belongings without paying the 3.5k usd for a Upack style move which is risky to lose my things.

Uhaul has said it's fine. The mechanic installing my tow hitch said it's fine. I just want to know if anyone has done a similar load long distance?
