An age gap relationship (younger woman, older man): who is more at risk, the woman or the man?
A lot of people on Reddit jump in attacking the man and claiming it is not jealousy but they have real concern for the woman.
Genuine question: what is the concern for the woman? Specifically.
And also, what do you think: who is more at risk, the man or the woman?
I think it depends on the individuals involved etc.
But there is a case to be made that the man is actually more at risk.
Take this example: A 19 or 20 year old woman meets a man who is in his early 30s, but he looks young for his age, energetic, young vibes, everyone thinks he's mid 20s. The two of them just fit, it matches. They met naturally, hit it off. The man is respectful.
Maybe the man was sort of just ending his partying/dating life and met this woman still somewhat in that mode, but they entered into a relationship, and date and years go by, and he's thinking marriage and kids and they are life partners.
Then they break up, the relationship ends after say 5 years - a long time. She maybe was starting to think about marriage and kids and thought not yet. She wants more "freedom". Maybe she feels the relationship is too old style. She wants to do her own thing.
So she learned a lot, she was with a guy she was very attracted to. He was respectful to her. The relationship was good, but it came to an end for one reason or another.
Now she is still only 24 or 25 years old. And he is about to turn 40. She can still date, and find someone and have a wedding in her late 20s with someone else. He's no longer going to the places where he met her. He has aged out of that. He's in a tough spot now. To get over that loss, to meet someone else if he wants, to have a relationship that leads to marriage and kids... is he going to be 45? 50?
Is the man not more at risk in age gap relationships?
Thoughts?
