I ruined going to the park for my ex-neighbors dog
A few years ago I (39f at the time)lived in a different house directly next to a park. When I moved in, the house was in a bad state. I had it cleaned up and painted. There was a detached guest house in the back. Pretty soon after moving in I started to see a strange man and his dog coming to my door on my ring camera.
The rear fence was weird. The property sat lower than the apartments behind it. So my 8 foot wall was only 2-3 feet from the opposite side. One day my nephew (22m at the time) and I are in the back yard and the same guy shows up at the wall asking if he could rent my back house. I declined and went about my business.
Two days later he approached me in my driveway with his dog. I was kind of cornered between my gate, truck and this guy and I flipped. I had no desire to meet this person or have him on my property and expressed that clearly. I told him I had seen him on my cameras multiple times and he needed to stop coming to my property.
My nephew was living with me in the back house and happened to be outside when this happened. A few weeks later my nephew and his friend ran into this man by his house around the corner from mine. From what they told me, they roughed him up pretty badly. They also made it clear they never wanted to see him near my house again.
While I was and am grateful that they are so worried about my wellbeing, I don’t condone their actions. Mostly I feel bad for the dog. The owner would walk it in the park every day prior to our interactions. I stayed in the home for 2 more years and never once did they walk past my house. I feel bad that the dogs special park walks were taken away partially because of their creepy owner and partially because of my nephew.
