residency in nz

I’m currently a 4th year medical student studying in the UAE, I’m expected to graduate in June 2028. I’ll most likely be doing my internship in the UAE as well. I’m interested in applying for residency in nz, but I’m a bit confused about the requirements. I’ve seen some sources say that having USMLE Step 1 and 2 can make me eligible, while others mention PLAB only as a requirement and Step is not considered, which has left me unsure. I really want to avoid wasting time and money on exams that won’t be considered or accepted.

Can anyone clarify what exams, pathways and requirements are needed for someone in my position to continue their postgraduate training in nz?
