Final Buying Advice T14s G6 - WWYD/FOMO - hit me with your honest opinions.

Buying Advice

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a Thinkpad after rocking the X220 for about 10 years now...
My use case is some light gaming, coding, media consumption (car / train) and lots of browsing/office work.

I've narrowed it down to 2 models:
T14s LNL 228V - LP Screen
T14s Ryzen AI 350 OLED

Price difference where I am is about 100 quid (Switzerland).
So some questions/rfc...

  1. The extremely high runtime of the LNL is appealing to me, however I think if the Ryzen can last somewhere around 10-12 hours this should be sufficient for me, since I wouldn't mind bringing a battery pack in that case. I've looked at the 2025 TP battery chart and think that should be possible.
Can any of you weigh in on that?

  2. The OLED is multitouch, but it is possible to disable it - should I worry about more power usage or any deprecation of the display?

  3. I really like the way OLEDs look, just worried about the battery life - is dark mode working for you on Chrome/Edge to offset this a bit?

  4. The Ryzen seems to have a larger idle power footprint, any idea how to lower that a little bit? Can you play with windows power states or BIOS settings somehow?

Any ideas/input is welcome, so I can finally hit the order button and be content for the next 5-10 years or so :D
