genuine question from a person who hasn't played much genshin

let me explain I don't play many gachas, I tried genshin, I'll try zzz, but mainly I only play FGO, for those who don't know, in fgo each character has a maximum level based on its rarity, but you can bring it up to 120 thanks to the holy grails, which however are limited and therefore are only used if you really like a character a lot. I personally like this because you can make your favorite servants "special", so I ask you, what can make a character in Genshin special? some will tell me C6R5, but if you are a person who spends a lot of money then it is no longer worth it, because you could do it with anyone, on fgo you can't buy grails, so you still have a limit, whether you are an f2p or a whale. Others will tell me "I make a perfect Build with artifacts" absolutely a valid option, but those who play frequently could make all the characters "perfect" so what is left to make a character "special"? I know that I shouldn't make a comparison between the two games and that a character can be special, as long as I like him, but I like the idea of making him "recognizable" so if any of you could give me some suggestions I would be grateful.
