[Beatbot Tutorial] What’s New: AI Quick Mode (AquaSense 2 Ultra Only)

🛠️Tips & Tricks

Welcome to Beatbot Tutorial — a monthly thread from our engineering and product teams where we break down top user questions, product updates, and real-world usage tips.

TL;DR

  • AI Quick Mode is a new, faster leaf-cleaning mode via OTA update
  • Only for Ultra, and floor cleaning only
  • Activate in app before submerging the robot
  • Uses vision to detect and clean debris while navigating
  • AI trained on 100K+ leaf/seed types

What is AI Quick Mode?

A software update (delivered OTA, or Over-the-Air via app) that enables AquaSense 2 Ultra to perform rapid, targeted floor cleaning, optimized for plant debris like leaves.

  • Available on: AquaSense 2 Ultra
  • Cleaning zone: Pool floor only
  • Target debris: Leaves and plant debris

*To get the latest features, keep your robot connected in the Beatbot app and follow update prompts.

How to Use It

  1. In the app, select AI Quick Mode
  2. Power on the robot before placing it in water
  3. Drop it in, and let it work

Note: Like other modes, app connection is lost underwater, so set it up beforehand.

How It Works

The robot uses AI vision to scan the pool floor while following an S-shaped path. If it detects debris within its field of view, it diverts to clean it before returning to its path.

Why Use AI Quick Mode?

  • Fast results: Cleans ~50% faster than Floor Mode*
  • Smart focus: Optimized for plant debris
  • Great for guests: Quick refresh before a party or swim

*Based on lab data in 50m² pools: AI Quick Mode cleaned in 47.5 min vs. 96.6 min in Floor Mode under similar leaf debris conditions. Results may vary depending on pool shape and dirt level.

What Debris Can It Detect?

The algorithm is trained on over 100,000 North American leaf and seed samples, recognizing over 90% of common species, including:

  • Leaves: Oak, Maple, Palm, Ficus, Sycamore, Birch, etc.
  • Fruits/Seeds: Acorns, pine cones, maple samaras, berries, nuts
