Help me pick one Guitar for the rest of my life

Im going to go to the US for Law School soon and was thinking of buying a guitar that will last me forever (or until I ever get the urge to trade or sell it).

Was debating between a Strat American professional 2 and a Player 2

Is the price difference really worth it? (I have the money to pay if necessary)

Can anyone give their suggestions or maybe suggest other ideas?
