Parking tips for Falcons v Titans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (atlanta aug 15)

hey everyone, with the preseason game coming up i figured i'd share some parking advice for anyone heading to mercedes-benz stadium. i've been to enough events there to know it can be a real headache if you don't plan ahead.

honestly, the official stadium parking is convenient but it's gonna cost you. the lots right next to the stadium like the red deck, silver deck, and the home depot backyard are the closest, but you'll be paying a premium, sometimes $50 or more. they are secure and a short walk, which is nice. if you're set on these, definitely book in advance online because they fill up fast.

the biggest issue with parking right at the stadium isn't just the price, it's the traffic getting out. after the game, it's a madhouse. everyone is trying to leave at once, and you can be stuck in the garage or on the surrounding streets for a long time. it's a known issue and while they've tried to improve it, exiting can be a slow process, sometimes taking over 30 minutes just to get out of the stadium itself.

a lot of people swear by taking MARTA, and for good reason. it's cheap, only $2.50 each way, and it drops you off right at the stadium at the GWCC/CNN Center station. you completely avoid the traffic nightmare after the game. you can park for free at one of the outlying MARTA stations like east point or college park and just ride the train in. it's especially packed on game days, so you'll be with a lot of other fans.

another option, and a personal favorite, is using Prked. it's an app where people who live near mercedes-benz stadium rent out their driveways or garages. it's usually way cheaper than the official lots, and you can find a spot just a short walk away. the best part is you're not dealing with the huge crowds leaving the main lots, so you can just walk back to your spot and drive off while everyone else is sitting in traffic. it's a great way to skip the chaos.

if you decide to drive and park in one of the unofficial lots further away, you can find some for around $13-$25. the walk is a bit longer, but you'll save money and have an easier time getting out. the centennial garage is a popular choice. some of these lots are a bit of a walk, like a mile or so, but it can be worth it for the quicker exit. just be aware of the neighborhood and make sure you're parking in a reputable lot. some people also try to find free street parking in areas like castleberry hill, but you have to get there super early for that.

no matter what you choose, my biggest piece of advice is to arrive early and have a plan for getting out. if you're driving, parking a little further away and walking can save you a lot of time and frustration later.

hope this helps and go falcons
