Is it weird that I feel self conscious about liking The Crane Wives?
I've loved tcw for years. Sometimes I feel kinda bad about my music taste, but I think it mainly has to do with my stepbrother saying that my music is horrible and the worst music ever and whatnot when he's upset at me. I know that he's wrong, especially because he's said similar things about my nice, aesthetic room with stuff all around reflecting the things I love while his room consists of a triple bunkbed, nowhere to comfortably sit, and socks all over the floor ("How did the dog get my sock? This makes no sense!"). But it still kinda hurts. I've never really met a real crane wives fan, just people who know curses and/or the moon will sing, or they see my tcw shirt and say their older sister likes that band. But it's not like this is an exclusivey tcw experience for me. I love being myself and obsessing over my interests and just doing what I love. But what I love isn't what I should love. All my interests are stupid and don't matter. At least, that's how it feels. How do you guys deal with liking a little band that no one else will ever like because folk music is stupid?
