Tired of complaints about food, picky eating and food wastage - Not going to cook anymore
I've two kids close in age, 13 and 14. For the most part, they've almost never dealt with picky eating and have been good eaters for almost entirety of their lives. For the past few months however, they refuse to eat any dinner I make. Curry, rice, dal? Nope. Ceaser salad and grilled chicken wings? Nope. Gru Nope. No matter what I make, they want something else. If I make X on Monday, they want Y. If I make Y on Tuesday, now they want Z. When I make Z on Wednesday, now they want X.
I can't deal with it anymore. Husband and I both work full time and we still make an effort to make good food after coming back home. It's like I'm being taken for granted by my own kids. And I hate the food wastage.
Husband is done with it as well. We're thinking that from now on we'll only cook for the both of us and the two kids will be responsible for their own meals (mainly dinner since they get lunch at school and breakfast is usually fruits and cereal). He thinks it'll be a good lesson for the kids on how much effort producing good food takes. I agree but a part of me is wondering if I'm being too harsh?
