Traveling with fishing poles

Hello, I will be traveling from PIT to SEA and wanted to bring my fishing poles that are in a PVC tube that is about 74 inches long. I am having trouble finding a price for the baggage. The website is misleading because in the fishing pole section it mentions that normal baggage fees will apply. I went to check the price of the baggage and it is saying $240 one way. I'm not paying that to bring my own poles. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
