2005 Jetta Diesel for 1700 CAD.

I need a car temporarily for like 6-7 months, and came across this 2005 Jetta TDI with 290k Kms. Guy is ready to give it to me for 1700 CAD. According to him it needs a power steering line and a front strut. Do you think it's worth it?
