Does anyone else kinda ignore ridiculous feats when talking about power scaling?
Probably not, but personally I’m kinda getting tired of the constant power creep for literally every single character. It’s like everyone’s abilities or skills are taken to the absolute extreme at all times.
Like Aquaman for example- how strong is he? I have a head canon that says he’s a relatively weak (physically) member of the justice league, below Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian MH, and probably Green Lantern, but is stronger than all the other members like flash and hawkgirl/man. Again, just my head canon, but I feel like it makes sense given his villains, his status, and the status/feats of the other characters.
I figured he’d probably be a good match up for a viltrumite or maybe someome from the Marvel Universe. Then I looked up if that’d been done before-
“Aquaman has killed gods.” “Aquaman can destroy the world with a thought.” “Aquaman is ____” or “_____.”
No he’s not! I’m tired of every writer needing to boost the character to crazy levels. Why can’t we just have a standard power level and then write stories around that?!
I know I’ll get downvoted for all this, but Aquaman isn’t the only character this pisses me off with, and it isn’t just DC.
If I start really listing these feats I’m sure I’ll get a million people explaining in detail why it actually all makes perfect sense. But like cmon, I am positive there have been moments on here with all those “(random character) vs (random character)” discussions, when someone brings up a completely ridiculous feat and ya thought to yourself “that’s just dumb.”
