No itinerary?

Hi all!

We'll be visiting for a week at the end of December and from what I can see from all the posts, our (lack of) plan is pretty unusual. I'm wondering if anyone has taken this approach?

We've booked accommodation in Reykjavik and a car, with a list a lot of places we're interested in exploring as day trips but no set plans and no stays in other towns. I figured that the weather would be unpredictable and the holidays would shut things down, so it would be safer. We're a family of four, with two big kids (13 and 18 brother and sister), which makes us a little harder to accommodate at short notice.

I know we'll miss a lot and would see more if we came at a different time of year to hit the road, but we're ok with that. Just wondering if I should plan things out a bit more haha 😆
