Closet Sobriety

Folks that kept (keep) their sobriety journey under wraps from everyone - how common are we? I still have never told a soul. Friends and family think I quit for health reasons, even the ones that MUST know better (who am I kidding?) At first I think I didn’t admit it because I wanted the safety net of not being a failure if sobriety didn’t work out. But I think the truth is I’m still ashamed to say the words.
