QI Project - Do You Need To Assess Balancing Measures?

I am completing a QI project as part of my training programme, having completed multiple cycles. I have seen that along with outcome measures, QI projects also have process measures and balancing measures. I am not confident that my QI project has addressed balancing measures, or at least not with any intentionality.

Are balancing measures really required for a QI project? And if so, are there any generic balancing measures that I may have not considered (project on abx treatment of pneumonia)?

I would be very grateful for the help as it has come to the write-up stage and I am not sure I have anything to say regarding this.
