Early start doesn't have ships?

Hey so i tried playing the early start recently, planned on building a brick factory and exporting them by ship. And than i find out... there are no ships? Like there is only one early start ferry for passengers and nothing else. Idk are we supposed to just ignore ships for 30 years what is that?
