I’m in a weird spot with this one, I wonder if anyone has had something similar happen and did it get sorted all okay by Vinted??

I’ve sent an expensive Pokemon card in the box pictured on July 29th - I have a full video of me packaging this and the video of me at the locker sending it too for safety (which is what I’ve screenshotted the photo from when I submitted to Vinted, it wouldn’t let me send a video in the claim, but I’ve told them I have them ready if needed)

Never had issues with this before, I’ve sold mostly cards on my account, most are bigger ticket ones, and I always make sure the buyer has positive feedback and no red flags on the account, this dude had 5* all round from several hundred people, was also selling graded cards, I figured he was buying mine to grade it and turn a profit kinda thing!

The second picture though, is the claim he submitted upon picking it up from his locker on his side, he’s sent a bunch of photos of what looks like unboxing a shopping bag for life with random cardboard, with an empty card top loader - not even similar to what I’ve sent. He’s claiming he’s opened it and it’s an empty package - no card.

In his claim which was sent to me too, he’s also shown screenshots from a video of him unpacking it, so we both have the same level of “evidence” so to speak - just his is very clearly fake and it seems he is attempting to scam me out of the card so he can claim a refund

There’s of course the outside chance of something being switched out in transit, but it seems extremely unlikely that someone would unpack mine, then repack something different and swap the label across? A little far fetched.

Has anyone had this happen to them when selling? I’m worried they may favour the buyer over me, since we both have a video (unless he’s just said that and lied, but it looked to be the case that’s he’s filmed himself opening whatever that is)

I’m hoping it’s a simple open and shut for Vinted since I’ve got clear video of the whole packing process and the drop off - and I’m assuming as a seemingly scam buyer, he’s probably assumed I wouldn’t have that and hoping to get one over on me.

Any thoughts?

Attempted buyer scam?
