How can an old man without a credit card prove to eBay that I am over 18 ?

I fully understand that some items are age restricted. I fully understand that the new UK law requires age confirmation. I stared into a camera for Reddit age confirmation and all was well. I am happy to do that for eBay but their ONLY method of proving I am over 18 is for me to have a credit card. I do not have a credit card. eBay help suggested that I might apply for one at my bank !!! I had a credit card for more than 18 years, but closed it about five years ago. My hedge is going to get very big if I cannot buy any more secateurs.
