Just finished my fourth, and probably last, sit - furious HO

I joined the site last year, and completed two sits last year and two this year. My two teenagers and I just spent a week at a beautiful home on the water and cared for two wonderful dogs. It was just about perfect.

Initially, the HO offered up her master suite, but close to the start of the sit, told me she had to retract that offer due to having everything pulled out due to upcoming renovations, etc. No problem at all. There was plenty of space elsewhere in the house.

Before leaving we cleaned our spaces and common areas top to bottom. We did extra stuff to make a good impression and leave the HO with nothing to worry about - i.e., washed the linens and put them back on the beds, etc.

I just heard from the homeowner, and she is livid. My son is a night owl, and one night, while he was on the phone with his gf, he wandered into the master bath with the intention of taking a shower. He brought some damp towels from our bathroom, moved some things around on counters, opened doors, turned on lights, even opened her closet. This is kind of what he does when he's on the phone, just walks around and fiddles with things. I just had no idea that he was doing so in her space. I was asleep at the time, which is why he left our space and went to hers.

I apologized profusely, and told her that I feel I bear some responsibility because it never occurred to me to specifically say, don't go into that space. We just, as far as I know, weren't going into the space. Now I know different.

I am completely mortified, and am expecting a pretty scathing review. She would certainly be within her rights to leave one. It's also possible she'll call THS and complain. This may be the end of what has been a wonderful thing for me. I am sad, and also beyond mortified.
