Need advice for emotional regulation. Crying always a solution?
Hell guys, I need your advice.
Since I can think, I have problems with emotional regulation. This starts with not knowing what I am feeling exactly, just feeling uncomfortable. What I can feel I just like a tension in the body, which increases the longer the feeling takes.
After a while I get even more quiet and even less interested in socializing. The tension and pressure in my body increases from time to time. And of course, I get more and more unhappy und frustrated with that. And with time, I am feeling more and more overwhelmed with that situation.
I tried a lot of things to deal with that, even with therapy. Self-care, meeting with friends, going outside, meditation and other stuff. Nothing helped getting trough this feelings.
The only thing that helps is crying. After that I feel immediately better. But crying comes not from itself. I have to hear sad music or look a sad film. I have to bring me in that mood.
Does anyone can relate with that? It is hard to explain in words what is going on. My therapist said that is no classical depression or bipolar disorder, I just have to use crying as a pressure valve.
The thing is, sometimes this happens several times a week. And the problem is I try to regulate with smoking which makes it even worse I guess.
