New rescue betta!

Recently just got a dragon scale betta I rescued in poor condition, he is doing well in a simple tank setup I have to monitor him closely until he is well enough I can do a better live planted tank for him. Im having trouble finding a way to feed him as he hides at the bottom of the tank when I come around, but he seems really hungry and tries to eat any floating piece of food that floats by when i put it in the tank. Any suggestions? He won’t come to the top of the tank to take the flakes. I’m sure he will be fine as he gets more comfortable but any advice would help. Also need name suggestions!!
