dark night metal and tom king's run?

Hey yall,

I'm reading the rebirth era and despite the criticism I'm actually loving Tom King's run so far.

That said, I'm like rabid to read dark nights metal and I've heard snyder's new 52 run is way more important than kings even tho it happens in the middle of king's run.

Can I just pause rebirth, zoom thru snyder's run and read metal and then go back and finish king? I have just heard king's run barely acknowledges it so I'm thinking that might be a safe move, just want some clarification.
