Abusive Vacation Bible School Leader

When I was around 5 or 6 years old, my parents had signed me up for Vacation Bible School at church. It was snack time at Vacation Bible School like they did everyday. Before we were supposed to eat our snack, we always had to say a group prayer. Apparently, you couldn’t eat snack until you did that. However, as a 5 or 6 year old kid, I really didn’t have much or any knowledge about praying or what it means. The only thing I did was I started to take out and unwrap the straw to my juice box (I hadn’t even started eating anything yet). Then, the group leader violently grabbed and yanked my hands away from the juice to the point it actually really hurt. She also yelled something at me. This was because I hadn’t done the prayer first. I mean I hadn’t even started eating yet. We were 5 and 6 year old kids. We don’t always know the rules, expectations, or what praying really is. Even if we did, you should never treat a child or adult that way. I mean everyone slips up or makes mistakes. It was like physically and emotionally abusive. We should have reported her to the church.
