Drip Irrigation vs. Sprinkler Systems in Guilds: Which is More Efficient?

Thinking about water efficiency lately, and it made me wonder what's generally considered more efficient in guild-related settings: drip irrigation or sprinkler systems? I'm picturing things like guild gardens, communal farms providing resources, or even just general landscaping around a guild hall.

Sprinklers seem simpler to set up for large areas, but I always hear about how much water they waste through evaporation and runoff. Drip irrigation seems much more targeted and precise, delivering water directly to the roots of plants, which should minimize waste. However, it also seems like it would be more labour-intensive to install and maintain, especially for a large area.

Has anyone had experience with either system in a guild context? What were the pros and cons you encountered? Was the initial investment in one system offset by long-term water savings compared to the other? I'm curious to hear any insights or recommendations.
